    Job Description

    This position is a mid-level technical professional responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, and data communications. This role involves administering technical platforms, resolving issues, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional customer support. A strong foundation in system administration, security, collaboration, and innovation is essential for this position.

    The following are the key responsibilities for this position. All tasks must be performed under the guidance and approval of management and operational oversight personnel. Actions must adhere strictly to established practices (policies, procedures, and standards) and comply with active IT controls to ensure consistency, accountability, and the prevention of unauthorized deviations.

    • Administer systems and support network operations to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

    • Monitor system and network health, promptly resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.

    • Respond to and resolve critical incidents, including system outages, in a timely and structured manner, ensuring root cause analysis and effective resolution.

    • Track resource utilization and provide actionable insights for capacity adjustments and infrastructure optimization.

    • Conduct regular system audits to identify and address performance bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, or outdated configurations.

    • Assist in maintaining and testing business continuity plans to ensure resilience and readiness for unexpected events.

    • Assist in the development, testing, and execution of disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity of operations.

    • Coordinate and perform regular updates, patches, and power management optimizations to ensure systems health and efficiency.

    • Innovate and automate workflows to optimize repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency.

    • Provide training and guidance to end users on system best practices and security protocols to enhance system utilization and compliance.

    • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups to resolve issues and improve systems.

    • Assist with or lead system and network projects, ensuring proper tracking, reporting, and timely completion.

    • Plan and execute approved system and network changes, adhering to established guidelines.

    • Maintain and update system and network documentation, including diagrams and compliance-related records.

    • Work with vendors to support tools or platforms, troubleshoot issues, and maintain effective partnerships.

    • Act as an escalation point for the IT helpdesk, troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues.

    • Provide professional and empathetic support to end users, addressing their technical needs effectively.

    • Ensure compliance with internal practices and external requirements, contributing to quality assurance and control efforts.

    • Identify and recommend improvements to IT practices (policies, procedures, standards, and system/network controls).

    • Provide technical guidance, deliver presentations, and create reports for stakeholders and peers as required.

    • Stay informed on industry trends, actively participate in training programs, and complete development plans to advance professional and technical proficiency.

    • Provide after-hours support, including On-Call problem resolution and support of project-related activities.

    • Partner with other IT staff members to promote peer-to-peer teaming and knowledge-sharing.

    • Perform other tasks related to IT functions as assigned.

    • Demonstrated experience working positively with supervision as well as being disciplined in completing work that is on time, complete, and accurately without close supervision.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work under pressure, and help encourage and motivate peers.

    • Must lift and carry 40 pounds for 30 feet at times.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (+4 years of relevant experience).

    • Minimum of 5 years working in multiple facets of IT Operations (network/system administration, security administration, IT project management, IT compliance).

    • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar) are highly preferred.
