Position Summary
The Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting, enhancing, and maintaining the organization’s technology systems. This position involves gathering and analyzing requirements, defining workflows and data structures, and documenting system functionalities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, the ability to work across teams, and a problem-solving mindset to drive system improvements and business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis & System Development
- Gather, document, and manage functional requirements for backlog items.
- Lead collaborative sessions to capture and refine system requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications by conducting thorough discussions and analyzing performance metrics.
- Ensure system documentation is clear, comprehensive, and aligned with operational and technical requirements, including workflows, integrations, and system impacts.
- Act as a subject matter expert to research and recommend system solutions.
- Anticipate potential issues with applications or databases and propose effective resolutions.
- Advocate for high-impact improvements and contribute to return-on-investment (ROI) evaluations.
- Follow industry best practices, processes, and standards to ensure system integrity.
Support & Quality Assurance
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues escalated by end users, prioritizing based on business impact.
- Identify root causes of technical problems and provide interim workarounds when necessary.
- Bridge the gap between business users and technical teams by explaining system issues in business-friendly terms.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on system performance and communicate key updates to stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call support rotations for critical system issues affecting business operations.
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration
- Contribute to process optimization efforts within the Systems Analysis team and IT department.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify technology-driven solutions for business challenges.
- Stay informed about emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a Systems Analyst role.
- Solid understanding of business operations and IT processes.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies in a collaborative project environment.
