Zantech is looking for a talented Systems Administrator to support our client team. As a Systems Administrator, you will support the overall management and maintenance of our Army client's computer systems and networks. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that the internal systems are reliable, secure, and performing optimally and you will have the ability to troubleshoot these when there are issues.
The Systems Administrator will administer, configure, back-up and maintain the hardware and systems required to keep the current environment available for use. This position will also work with monitoring tools, active directory, assess and interpret requirements of systems and applications in relation to hardware, and software, implementing efficiencies through automation (leveraging PowerShell and batch jobs). The candidate will be part of a team maintaining and securing this mission critical IT environment, which relies on Windows Server 2016, SharePoint, and SQL Server, running within a virtual environment using VMWare.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Ensure long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.
Install, maintain, configure, and ensure the integrity of system software.
Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
Monitor system performance and take corrective action as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
Perform regular system backups and ensure that data is secure and recoverable in case of system failure.
Develop and maintain system documentation, including procedures, standards, and system configuration information.
Collaborate with other IT professionals to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Performs software installations, patches and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Familiar with DOD policy and maintaining system compliance with IAVAs. Ability to track IAVAs and corresponding KBs (if applicable) and affected servers.
Familiar (experience preferred) with tracking and applying DISA STIGs and documenting through the STIG viewer.
Monitors and performs troubleshooting of event logs.
Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
Provide setup and monitoring of Backup Solutions
Experience with VM Ware
Experience with DOD security practices/STIGs
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

MCSE Server Infrastructure 2012 or MCSA Windows Server 2012
CSE Server Infrastructure 2016 or MCSA: Windows Server 2016
Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, this is a two (2) exam certification path (AZ-800, AZ-801)
Microsoft Identity And Access Administrator (exam SC300) as this is the replacement for the 3rd Active Directory Domain Services exam in the old MCSA.
