    About the Role:

    Aquila is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The Systems Engineer will work in a team that performs concept development, prototype design, analysis, and demonstrations in support of the National test ranges and HF and air defense radars and systems. 

    There are a few requirements for the position:

    • Must be a U.S Citizen- Authorized to Work in the US - Must have an Active Secret clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
    • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
    • Must Live within 100 miles from Lexington, MA
    Required Skills:
    • Ability to propose and explore new and innovative techniques and technologies and be able to understand how these new technologies can affect a radar system’s capabilities.
    • Experience with wideband phased array radar system design, development, calibration and testing.
    • Experience in several of the following fields: radar signal processing, statistical signal processing, and moving target detection and tracking.
    • Matlab
    • Beamforming
    • Effective communication with colleagues, sponsors, and other research sites.
    • Effective organizational skills with the ability to complete assignments working independently and in a team environment
    Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with adaptive radar system design, development, and testing,
    • C or C++ programming.
    • Familiarity with RF laboratory equipment including waveform generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.

    Education: The team is seeking someone with a PhD plus 5 years minimum experience.

    Work location: Hybrid - Individual works from home or off-site for a portion of their schedule and within a routinely commutable distance from the Lexington facility. Candidate must be local to Lexington, MA so they can travel onsite as needed.

    Travel: Potential yearly travel to Kwaj (international).

    Clearance: Candidates MUST possess an active secret clearance in order to be considered for this position.
