Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer/Architect to work for our company.
Summary:
Client Agency is Customs and Border Patrol
Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection suitability. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
Must be willing and able to work on-site in Ashburn, VA.
Lead the design and development of enterprise systems architectures and technical frameworks for Customs and Trade initiatives.
Has a solid command of modern technologies such as Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS, IDaaS, etc), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML), CI/CD and DevSecOps, Agile Development Framework, Business Intelligence platforms such as Business Objects, and large-scale relational databases.
Will interface with Government technical architect and engineering personnel and third-party personnel.
Define and document architectural solutions to ensure interoperability, scalability, security, reliability, availability, reusability, maintainability, and configurability..
Work with program and project managers, stakeholders, and development teams to evaluate current systems and propose enhancements.
Analyze requirements and translate them into system specifications and architectural artifacts.
Conduct system performance assessments and provide recommendations for optimization.
Ensure compliance with DHS and CBP technical standards, policies, and architectures.
Will oversee integration of cybersecurity requirements, including RMF packages, FedRAMP, STIG compliance, and risk management.
Will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including security engineers, developers, and system administrators.
Will provide briefings and technical recommendations to executive stakeholders and government clients.
Will contribute to the development of standards, policies, templates, and guidelines for system engineering activities.
Requirements:
Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection suitability. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies).
Must be willing and able to work on-site in Ashburn, VA.
Must have an active CSM certification or other relevant Scrum certification recognized by a national authority.
Must have experience leading architecture design and implementation for large-scale, highly complex, and fast paced environments.
Previous experience in systems engineering or IT architecture roles supporting federal agencies or large enterprise environments.
Previous experience with DHS and CBP systems engineering and lifecycle documentation.
Hands-on experience system modeling, integration, and performance evaluation.
Must have in-depth knowledge of modern technologies and trends.
Must have experience migrating from legacy environments into new data centers and Cloud environments.
Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (RMF and NIST 800-53).
Previous hands-on experience with cloud technologies, enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Sparx EA, DoDAF), and virtualization.
Previous experience leading and working in Agile development teams by recommending EPIC, stories, and tasks/activities for Agile projects along with backlog grooming and participating in retrospectives.
Oral presentation experience and excellent oral and written communication skills.
