This Engineer will help contribute to our Mission Engineering team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions that includes a background in all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.
Responsibilities
Demonstrated experience working large multi-site software development efforts including external interface development.
- Demonstrated experience executing under Federal Acquisition Regulations including Operational Concept development, Requirements, System Decomposition, Standards Compliance, Design, Implementation and Selloff.
- Demonstrated experience conducting or leading Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies and/or Design Evaluations.
- Familiarity with cyber, platform and network architecture technologies, dependencies and design drivers.
- Travel supporting program reviews and customer meetings to CONUS sites including Huntsville, AL and Shriever SFB expected.
- Desired experience designing large command and control and/or weapon systems.
- Desired experience processing radar sensor data. Desired experience with near real time processing, persistence and distributed user community.
- Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
- Mentoring to junior systems engineering team members to enhance skills in the department.
- Works with the enterprise test architect to enable system sell off of capabilities as required.
- Ability to be flexible to support various tasking on short notice.
- Work will be performed under the direction of the Global Architect Lead, and will require interfacing with team members, management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.
- Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis.
- Candidate will be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning, mentoring team members on architectural patterns being used, and agile team leadership.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a self-starter with good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Candidate must be able to cooperatively develop integration plans/procedures from sources such as functional/performance requirements and stated technical capabilities, monitor the integration of the test resources, execute these detailed integration procedures, analyze integration results, and present the results orally and in written format.
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with people within and external to the program, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Candidate should have experience in troubleshooting of small to large scale infrastructure.
- Linux and Windows experience required.
- Virtual Server experience preferred
- Nutanix experience preferred
- Ideal candidate should have either knowledge of or practical experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
- Experience within the Mission Defense realm and previous test and integration experience are also very useful.
Education & Certifications
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred
- Minimum Active Top Secret Clearance required, SCI Eligibility with investigation or continuous vetting date within 5 years.
