  • Responsibilities

    **Part time position. Hours vary based on need and no hours guaranteed per pay periods. **

    As the Aircraft Mechanic II your primary responsibility is to repair machinery or mechanical equipment as well as performing engine buildups and teardowns. You may be required to assist in maintaining USAF site’s Support Equipment as needed.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    · Inspecting and repairing ground support equipment

    · Installing and removing QEC kits on aircraft engines

    · Performing engine QEC buildup actions, both assembly and tear down.

    · Determining serviceability of QEC items.

    · Completing all required documentation and tagging requirements of QEC items.

    · Order QEC parts from COMBS.

    · Refer to technical publications to determine specifications to be met.

    · Track and record calibration dates to ensure that support equipment is up to date.

    · Keep files with documentation and certifications of calibrated equipment and ensure that equipment is sent out for calibration in a timely manner

    · Ensure that equipment is sent out for calibration when due.

    · Ensure that all equipment is accounted for.

    · Maintain necessary HAZMAT materials to perform duties as required.

    · Cleaning of warehouse, shops, offices and restrooms as required.

    · Clerical and other assigned duties as required.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    · High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

    · 3 years recent Aircraft Maintenance experience.

    LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:

    · Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    · Understanding of scheduling techniques and technical order requirements.

    · Ability to accurately troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft engine/support equipment systems.

    · Mental and visual ability to read and understand detailed technical publications and instructions.

    · Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    · Ability to deal courteously with the customer.

    TRAVEL: Up to 100%

  • Qualifications
    • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Effective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staff
    • Ability to take charge and effectively manage contractors to meet project schedule
    • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 10HR OSHA Safety card
    • The ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environment
    • Ability to evaluate contractor provided construction CPM schedules, including logic and sequencing
