    Job Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop new and grow existing carrier/owner-operator relationships (lead generation, cold calling, and referrals).
    • Build strong relationships with trucking company key contacts (i.e., owner-operators, dispatchers, and drivers).
    • Negotiate price, drive process, and improve efficiency.
    • Identify issues and work cross-functionally to determine and implement the best solution.
    • Maintain constant contact with carriers to secure additional truck capacity and manage existing business agreements.
    • Provide exceptional service to carriers/owner operators and customers.
    • Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated and tracked in the system.
    • Support the sales department with timely cost quotations, transit times, and availability.
    • Resolve ad hoc logistics issues.
    • Onboarding new and growing existing customers.
    • Answer phone calls or emails outside of normal business hours.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Excellent communication and listening skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to multi-task and make educated decisions under pressure
    • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel)
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work effectively with little supervision
    • Good organizational and follow-through skills
    • Good negotiation skills
    • Mechanical aptitude and comprehension preferred
    • Data entry 88kpm, preferred

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required;

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two-year-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
