  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Prepares, positions, aligns, and joins metal structural shapes with MIG, TIG and Spray Arc welding procedures and achieved ASME Section VIII, complete x-ray certified welds.
    • Examines drawing, inventories components to ensure that all required materials are available, and that they conform to the drawing and documentation.
    • Identifies and resolves any problem with drawings with the Welding Supervisor.
    • Performs the actual fit‑up of materials. Supervisor approves fit‑up by annotating initials and date on drawing.
    • Upon approval of the Welding Supervisor begins actual welding.
    • When welding operation is complete, grinds or chips rough edges, surplus weld, or scale. Cleans up assembly with wire buffer or sander as required.
    • Performs visual inspection.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training required in MIG, TIG and Spray Arc welding.
    • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to work simple mathematical ability to perform calculations is required.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • ASME Section VIII and Quality Weld test necessary.
    • Ability to use tape measures and perform precise calculations.
    • Flexible hours including weekends as needed to meet business demands.

    Salary range: $49,275 — $54,746 USD
