Client Overview
Our client is one of the largest Mechanical Seal Manufacturing Companies in the world. With over 30 offices and 1600 employees they have seen continuous growth throughout the years! They have been able to attack a wide variety of markets from Oil & Gas, Water, Chemical, and Power. They are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to lead the national distribution.
Responsibilities
- The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the companies Industries, national sales strategic growth initiatives/targets through the Distribution Channel, on an annual basis.
- The Distribution Manager will be responsible for the execution of the program including: training of distributor sales engineers, coordination with marketing in developing distributor selling material, defining target sales areas, standardization of: quotation-pricing-delivery-engineering and operational support from the service centers.
- Establish and implement Distributor Strategic business growth plans annually.
- The incumbent must prepare a quarterly distribution business overview for the regions covered.
- Responsible for organizing Distributor technical forums to support the business development strategy. A yearly forum calendar should be developed in January each year. The trainings should be focused on selling solutions in their respective industries. It should be aligned to the business development strategy for each region.
- The Manager of Distribution should support selling large value upgrade opportunities, with the Distributor sales force.
- A monthly reporting on progress in program bookings must be made by incumbent.
- Perform any other duties as required.
- Quarterly visits to Houston to promote team involvement with West Region team
- Update Trace and Chase worksheet by Friday 12:00 PM CST weekly. Worksheet is provided on sales archive server.
- Update CRM opportunities / forecast by Friday 12:00 PM CST weekly to include a 3-month bookings projection for the assigned territory
- Update the 2-week outlook worksheet and submit to manager by Friday 12:00 PM CST weekly
- Update faces seen and conversions report by the last day of each month and submit to manager no later than close of business the last day of each month
- Complete Western Region Reporting worksheet and submit to manager by Friday 12:00 PM CST weekly to ensure all sales reporting tasks are complete and up to date 100% attendance for all one-on-one meetings, which are at minimum held monthly and scheduled by manager
- All sick days require a phone call
Key Performance Measures
- Achieving the Shipments Target against Plan for U.S. Distributors will be a primary KPM.
- Achievement of the corporate target for gross margins will be a KPM.
- Improvement in the overall Customer Satisfaction Survey Results will be a KPM.
Qualifications
- BSME or equivalent engineering degree and plus 5-7 years of experience in
- the rotating industry, manufacturing or industrial.
- Experience in selling MTBF solutions, especially technical selling skills.
- Must have motivational skills and managerial skills and a high sense of urgency to recognize equipment, process, and industry opportunities in the market (develop networks)
- Good performer in taking ideas to full market launch.
- MUST understand distribution and how to deal with B2B.
- Interpersonal skills are critical for optimum communication with customers as well as internal Team.
- Must be able to work in a team, and to lead teams to ensure successful program implementation.
- Good written and verbal reporting skills. Excellent computer application skills in MS Office products.
- Travel required 25% - 50% of time.
