Job Description Summary
Professional Engineers in the Regional Water Project Development (RWPD) Division in the Office of Water Supply and Infrastructure (WSI) play an essential role in advancing the Texas Water Development Board’s (TWDB) mission of providing financial assistance for the conservation and responsible development of water for Texas. Water, wastewater, storm water and flood control projects financed by the TWDB range from small grants to large-scale regional projects. RWPD staff are responsible for working with stakeholders to ensure that TWDB financed projects comply with Board rules and design criteria. RWPD staff make recommendations on eligibility for funding and project approval for a variety of funding programs that have provided nearly $39 billion in state and federal financial assistance to communities since 1957.
Performs routine complex (journey-level) to highly complex (senior-level) engineering and/or project manager work. Work involves oversight, technical review and evaluation of reports, facility plans, construction plans and specifications, construction schedules, contracts, change orders, and other required project and program documents. May provide guidance to others. Works under general to limited supervision, with limited to moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Manager of a Regional Water Project Development Team.
