Company Overview: Sara Software Systems is an industry leader in delivering innovative software solutions to federal clients. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tableau Administrator for our IRS project. This is a hybrid role that requires a strong understanding of Tableau Server Administration and hands-on experience with Tableau platform management and optimization. Candidates must be local to the DMV area and able to work on-site once a week.
Job Summary: The Tableau Administrator will be responsible for managing the Tableau Server environment, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, security, and scalability. This role includes server installations, configurations, upgrades, and security management to support the IRS project. The ideal candidate will bring over 7 years of experience in Tableau Server Administration and be able to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Tableau Server administration, including installations, configurations, upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
Design, size, and scale server architecture for optimal performance and scalability.
Manage user access, authentication protocols (SSO, SSL, SAML, LDAP), and Active Directory synchronization.
Administer groups, workbooks, projects, permissions, and schedules for effective data management and user access control.
Conduct server monitoring and performance reviews, analyzing metrics to identify and resolve potential issues.
Implement best practices for server maintenance, including cache and history management, database backups, and cleanup.
Utilize tools like Tabadmin, Tabcmd, and TSM for backup, restoration, and operational processes.
Support business continuity by conducting regular logs cleanup, archiving, and disaster recovery protocols.
Coordinate with stakeholders for requirements gathering, user support, and troubleshooting of Tableau-related issues.
Develop and document Tableau Server policies and standard operational procedures (SOPs).
Facilitate content migration between Tableau Servers using Content Migration Tool and Site Export/Import methods.
Collaborate with business units to create secure data connections and schedule data refreshes for dashboards based on business needs.
Qualifications:
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience with Tableau Server Administration.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) from an accredited institution.
Technical Skills:
Extensive experience with Tableau Server (e.g., 2022.3.8, 2022.3.6, 2021.3.8, 2020.4, 2019.4.3, 10.5).
Strong knowledge of database connections (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Amazon Redshift, DB2).
Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau Desktop, Power BI, and ServiceNow.
Experience with ETL tools (Alteryx, SSIS, SSRS) and cloud platforms (AWS).
Proficiency with security protocols (SSO, SSL, SAML, LDAP).
Familiarity with TSM, Tabadmin, and Tabcmd commands.
Clearance Requirement: MBI clearance required.
Other Requirements: Must be local to the DMV area and available to work on-site one day per week.
