  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Interviews and assesses each job seeker to gather information on their education, background, prior work experience, skills, interests, and short/long term employment goals.
    • Assists the job seeker with up-to-date employment information, including high-demand occupation lists, hiring events, etc.
    • Uses the assessments to develop a realistic career pathway
    • Ensures job seeker meet the eligibility requirements for all programs and employment activities by clearly/accurately documenting such eligibility in hard copy and case notes, securing the proper approvals for participation, and monitoring the job seeker’s progress as defined in our policies and procedures throughout their participation.
    • Provides job search help and job referrals to the job seeker at each meeting.
    • Works with job seeker to secure any additional supportive services available within each program as part of their job search and employment.
    • Sanctions/exits the job seeker in a timely and accurate manner in adherence with program regulations, and Board/ResCare policies and procedures.
    • Ensures that all job seeker updates are entered in the appropriate application the same day in accordance with program regulations, and Board/ResCare policies and procedures.
    • Monitors performance reports to ensure all services and data entry are entered timely and accurately.
    • Creates/maintains hard copy job seeker file with up-to-date documentation as required by program regulations, and Board/ResCare policies and procedures

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum High School graduate or GED recipient. Will consider minimum of four (4) years equivalent work experience in related field in lieu of Associates Degree or equivalent certificate.
    • Understanding of daily workforce center operations required.
    • Knowledge and experience in interviewing and employment counseling preferred.
    • Skill in solving employment-related problems preferred.
    • General knowledge of public employment and training programs required.
    • Understanding and awareness of the needs of disadvantaged individuals and other persons who face barriers to employment required.
    • Understanding of techniques for developing jobs in the public and private sectors preferred.
    • Ability to understand yearly business quarters as it relates to retention and how it can be obtained.
    • Working knowledge of workforce center programs (WIOA, TANF, NCP, SNAP, Young Adult).
    • Ability to navigate through computer programs to enter required information (Micro Office, TWIST, TWC Mainframe, and WIT).
    • Ability to interact with team members, sharing responsibility to accomplish common goals and objectives.
    • Ability to keep accurate statistical records required.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

    Additional Information

    Extensive standing, sitting, computer, phone, and deskwork required; some kneeling and lifting of up to 10 pounds required; work primarily in a defined office environment with specified hours, although flexible hours including overtime may be required; interacts one on one and in groups with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.

    Up to 25% travel as needed
