Job Title: Night Shift Lovejoy Taproom Host Status: Part Time or Full Time Reports to: Taproom Manager Salary: $18/hour + tips
JOB DESCRIPTION & EXPECTATIONS
Night Shift Lovejoy Wharf is a lively and welcoming space where we celebrate great beer, delicious food, and community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service to create a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
Greet guests with warmth and professionalism; assist with inquiries, reservations, and concerns.
Manage seating flow by following rotation guidelines and occupancy limits, ensuring a balanced and efficient floor.
Maintain real-time updates in OpenTable, including managing empty and turning tables, and promptly notifying servers of new guests.
Oversee the waitlist during peak times, seating guests based on volume, availability, and party needs.
Be knowledgeable about food and beverage offerings—including new and seasonal releases—to make informed, enthusiastic recommendations.
Process takeout and retail transactions through the Toast system with accuracy, including Grubhub and phone-in orders.
Answer and manage incoming calls professionally, offering assistance and entering phone orders when needed.
Replenish retail beer and merchandise throughout the shift to ensure clean, organized, and well-stocked displays.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary host stand and surrounding guest areas, with extra attention to high-touch surfaces.
Communicate effectively with the FOH and BOH teams to ensure a smooth guest flow and service experience.
Assist with setting up and breaking down events, and provide general support to the taproom team as needed.
Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness guidelines and company policies.
Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and elevate the guest experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Has strong verbal communication skills with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
Comfortable taking on tasks as assigned by the hospitality management team to ensure daily Front of House/kitchen operations.
Be on time for scheduled shifts.
Available for nights and weekend shifts of 5 hours or more.
Must have Saturday and/or Sunday and some holiday availability.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms.
Comfortable using reservation and POS systems (OpenTable, DoorDash and Toast experience a plus).
TIPS certification (Opportunity for completion will be provided if needed)
Reliable transportation to and from assigned work location.
