Job Overview
As Tax Director at Roark's Client, you will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of our tax practice. You will lead a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax returns, managing tax planning strategies, and staying abreast of evolving tax laws and regulations. Responsibilities for Tax Director:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and review of a wide range of tax returns (individual, partnership, corporate, etc.) ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for our clients.
- Tax Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues and provide expert advice to clients and staff.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax function.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and addressing their tax needs.
- Team Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the tax team.
- Technical Expertise: Stay current on tax law changes and industry best practices.
Qualifications/Requirements for Tax Director:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Master's in Taxation required.
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a related field.
- Proven experience managing and leading a tax team.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software (Lacerte and QuickBooks experience is a plus).
