Magone & Company, a CPA firm with offices in Cedar Knolls and Roseland, NJ, is seeking part-time or full-time support for our tax practice for the 2024 Tax Season. You will begin training in January and work through April 30th, with potential to extend longer. During that time, hours for the admin support group will include extended hours, and will include some mandatory Saturdays and/or Sundays during the peak in March/April. We will consider part-time with multiple interns if needed, though full-time is preferred.
You will gain valuable experience for your career in Accounting using the latest software for office and CPA-related functions. We are looking for superior attention to detail and positive attitude, highly professional demeanor with a focus on customer service, and a high comfort level with technology and learning new software programs.
We will train you on the specialized software we use to manage all facets of our business, including internal processes and workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Use workflow software to assist in tracking and reporting
Download, organize and prepare documents for tax preparation
Perform data verification of documents prior to entry into tax software
Manage/manipulate data in spreadsheets and reports
Assist in other aspects of administrative support for our practice
Education Requirements: Recent graduate or in final year of BS in Accounting
Office Experience:
1 year in an office environment preferred, preferably in public accounting or financial services
Customer service experience is a plus.
Other Skills we look for:
Proficiency and experience with computers and various software programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; Adobe Creative Cloud (editing software) preferred
Familiarization with taxes and tax software is a plus
Customer service orientation for internal and external clients
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
