Job Summary
A prominent company ranked number 15 in Hartford Business Journal’s Largest Accounting Firms in Greater Hartford and recognized in the top 500 by Inside Public Accounting, is seeking a dedicated Tax Manager for our Farmington office. This is a full-time, hybrid position (mostly remote) offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities –
Support partners and serve as engagement manager on client accounts.
Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Review tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
Research tax issues and draft memorandums.
Identify opportunities to expand engagements.
Participate in business proposal development.
Promptly bill and collect.
Hold team members accountable to the Firm’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
Develop team members’ technical and professional skills.
Provide regular performance feedback and evaluations.
Delegate assignments and focus on management-level work.
Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, independent thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Maintain confidentiality of client and team discussions.
Qualifications –
BS/BA in accounting preferred; CPA required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of tax experience in public accounting.
Evident leadership and management skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Capability to meet deadlines and manage workload under pressure.
Proficiency with MS Office, tax compliance and research software, fixed assets, QuickBooks.
