Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role is a motivated and skilled tax professional with a passion for client service and team collaboration. They should have CPA licensure (or be progressing towards it) and at least 2-4 years of tax preparation experience, along with 1-2 years in a tax review role. This candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, especially during tax season, and has the flexibility to work extended hours when needed. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as this role involves meeting with clients to discuss tax strategies, overseeing a team of tax preparers, and ensuring a smooth, high-quality tax filing process.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to prepare and file annual personal and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120S).
- Review and submit completed tax returns for e-filing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Advise clients on tax strategies to optimize their financial outcomes.
- Address and resolve client concerns promptly to maintain a high standard of service.
- Conduct tax consultations as needed.
- During off-season, assist with non-tax services and consulting, including potential bookkeeping and other advisory tasks.
Skill Requirements:
- CPA Licensure (or actively pursuing CPA certification).
- PTIN credentials required
- 2-4 years of tax preparation experience (preferred).
- 1-2 years of tax review experience (preferred).
- Strong client communication skills – able to explain tax strategies and address client concerns effectively.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized – ensures accuracy and timely turnaround on tax filings.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during tax season and adjust schedule as needed during off-season.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks Online and Drake Software or similar tax preparation software (a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills – able to handle client issues and provide strategic tax advice.
- Self-motivated and adaptable – able to take on non-tax consulting tasks during the off-season.
- Communication : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally and confidently with clients.
