Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Reviewer is a key member of our client, responsible for reviewing complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to tax laws. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations and a strong ability to manage multiple client engagements. The Senior Tax Reviewer will work closely with the tax preparation team, providing guidance, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the highest quality of service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Return Review: Review complex individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all tax documents are prepared accurately and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, reducing the risk of audit adjustments.
Client Management: Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information, address tax-related inquiries, and provide clarity on tax positions.
Staff Development: Mentor and provide feedback to junior staff, assisting them in improving their tax knowledge and reviewing skills.
Tax Research: Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide solutions or recommendations to minimize tax liabilities.
Compliance Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the firm’s practices and advice are in line with current legal requirements.
Workflow Management: Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring deadlines are met and workload is balanced among the team.
Client Advisory: Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying potential tax-saving opportunities.
Documentation: Ensure all client documentation is properly filed, organized, and maintained in the firm’s electronic system.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification required.
Experience :Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in tax preparation and review within a public accounting firm.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software Lacerte is a plus not required and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to clients and staff.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, with a collaborative approach to client service.
Time Management: Exceptional time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
A CPA is Required for this role
