Interns serve as members of professional staff team. Interns are staffed on engagements similar to an Accountant and receive formal and on-the-job training to hone and develop their technical skills. In this role, Interns assist in the preparation of primarily individual tax returns. In addition, Interns may be responsible for research on tax law or other related projects.
While utilizing tax-related software to prepare and process returns, Interns will gain a vast amount of knowledge while working hands-on in the preparation of income tax returns. Complexity of returns will increase through tax season with the expectation that the individual has a thorough knowledge and ability to complete basic tax returns and work with all levels of management at the end of the internship. Procedures may range from computer input to taking a tax project from start to finish while working with senior staff to correct problems or tax issues encountered, provide explanations, and research tax issues.
Skills & Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and/or an advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation
Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0
Strong leadership, multitasking, and organizational skills
Self-starter with initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of a CPA firm
