Qualifications: • The Head Start BA/AA Teacher in Stockton, CA should possess a Current California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher. • A minimum of an AA degree in Child Development or a related field is required for this position, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree. • If working with children from birth to three years old, the candidate should have three infant/toddler units. • Two years of relevant experience teaching or working with children aged 0-5 and their families is necessary. • Basic computer skills and internet use are required. • Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication with families and coworkers. • The candidate should be able to communicate with compassion and without judgment. • The ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply policies, rules, and regulations is necessary. - Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. • The Head Start BA-AA Teacher should be physically capable of responding to children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts in a childcare center environment. • The candidate should be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs. in a repetitive manner. • Physical capability to assist children and ensure their safety in the play area is required. • The candidate should be able to crouch, squat, sit, and stand on the floor for up to 30 minutes to interact with children. • The ability to handle commotion, high noise levels, and daily pressures of the center is necessary. • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
