RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Teacher will include but not limited to the following:
● Monitor students and maintain adequate supervision at all times
● Implement the use of curriculum and plan/develop age-appropriate individualized activities to meet student's unique needs and developmental levels including physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development
● Ensure preparation and service of meals comply with program qualities and standards
● Ensure classroom and outdoor environment is always maintained and safe following program compliance and best practices
● Monthly submission of lesson plans and activities for each week of care
● Adhere to program policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policies and procedures
● Conduct monthly emergency procedures as outlined in policies and procedures to ensure staff and students are familiar with protocols and evacuation routes
● Implement daily activities including but not limited to, singing songs, playing games, and reading books to the children to enhance their developmental levels
● Establish and maintain daily classroom routines and follow daily classroom schedule to the best of your ability
● Provide students with quality interactions as modeled in the standards set by the CLASS tool
● Effective and appropriate communication with children, staff and families daily including but not limited to greeting parents at pick up and drop off
● Ensure and maintain daily collection of the DRDP Anecdotal Notes, and inputting daily entries into Learning Genie platform including but not limited to Anecdotal notes, photos and communication to families
● Meet agency deadlines for DRDP’s, ERS and ASQ’s in compliance with program requirements
● Provide a positive and inclusive environment for students of all needs including the implementation of IEP, IFSP and/or behavior support plan goals.
● Conduct Parent Teacher conferences for all students at least twice a year, student orientations upon enrollment, and keep parents informed of program expectations regarding program activities and their child’s progress
● Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records to ensure timely submission
● Discuss identified problems and needs with your direct supervisor
● Additional duties as assigned for program needs and compliance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Education: Must have and possess Associate Teacher Permit or higher. Must have completed a minimum of 12 core Early Childhood Education (ECE) / Child Development (CDE) college units. along with completion of High School diploma.
● Infant Teacher must have completed a minimum of (6) infant/toddler units in ECE or CDE.
● Experience: Previous teaching experience or experience working with children
● Personal Qualities: Need to be friendly and inviting. Need to adapt easily and enjoy learning. Open to constructive feedback that enhances the organization.
● TB Clearance (every four years)/Physical (once upon hire)
● Fingerprinting Clearance by FBI, DOJ, Child Abuse Index and these criminal records are required for employment
● Vaccines( TDAP every 10 years and MMR)
● Flu Shot annually
● CPR/ First Aid Certification (every two years)
● Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207 every two years)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
● Ability to work in a classroom setting
