About the role:
The VI teacher must be able to conduct any needed assessments to determine the strengths and needs of each student. The VI teacher will provide instruction and will prepare and maintain learning materials in the appropriate accessible format for each student. The VI teacher will consult with the staff who work with a student along with each student’s family.
What you must have:
- A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university.
- A valid teacher certification.
- The following supplement: Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments.
Bonus Skills
- Ability to use accepted tests and measurements to assess visual conditions.
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
