Job Title: Technical Account Manager - Database Management (Oracle, Multi-Cloud)
Job Summary: As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) specializing in Oracle Database Management within a multi-cloud environment (AWS and Azure), you will be the trusted advisor and advocate for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful deployment, management, and optimization of Oracle databases across cloud infrastructures. With your deep expertise in database administration, Day 2 operations, migration methodologies, and cloud technologies, you will help clients navigate the complexities of multi-cloud environments, driving success through proactive support and strategic guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
● Client Relationship Management:
○ Serve as the primary point of contact for designated clients, fostering strong relationships built on trust and technical expertise.
○ Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their business goals, technical environment, infrastructure, and challenges.
○ Act as a client advocate within the organization, ensuring their needs are prioritized in internal discussions and projects.
● Technical Expertise & Advisory:
○ Provide expert advice on the management and optimization of Oracle databases in multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
○ Guide clients through Day 2 operations, including monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security management, patching, and upgrades.
○ Offer expertise in database migration strategies, utilizing tools like RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and GoldenGate for seamless transition and replication across environments.
○ Conduct implementation reviews, assist with the deployment of new features, and resolve complex technical issues.
○ Stay updated on the latest developments in Oracle Database management and cloud technologies to provide clients with cutting-edge solutions.
● Day 2 Operations Management:
○ Manage the ongoing operational aspects of Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization in multi-cloud environments.
○ Implement best practices for database maintenance, including capacity planning, resource allocation, and automated alerting systems.
○ Provide strategic guidance on database scaling, load balancing, and failover strategies to ensure continuous availability and reliability.
○ Collaborate with DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of database services in multi-cloud environments.
● Database Migration Management:
○ Lead and manage database migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity during transitions.
○ Utilize RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate, and other migration tools to effectively move and replicate databases across cloud environments.
○ Develop migration plans that consider factors such as application dependencies, network configurations, and post-migration validation.
● Support & Escalation Management:
○ Take ownership of client support tickets, managing them from initial report through to successful resolution.
○ Act as an internal escalation point for client-related issues, collaborating with engineering, support, and product teams as necessary.
○ Ensure timely and effective resolution of technical challenges, balancing client satisfaction with operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
● Education & Experience:
○ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
○ 10+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, including experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
○ Proven experience in a client-facing role, such as Technical Account Management, Customer Success, or Consulting.
● Technical Skills:
○ Deep understanding of Oracle Database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and Day 2 operations.
○ Expertise in database migration methodologies, including RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
○ Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure, with experience in database migration, management, and Day 2 operations.
○ Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, and experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
● Soft Skills:
○ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted issues.
○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
○ Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
● Certifications:
○ Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
○ Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.
