We are seeking a part-time data administrator to join our Materials Data Engineering team and work with subject matter experts to augment customer database population resources and accelerate customer value of their materials data assets.

This role can be performed remotely or in-office as part of MDMi’s hybrid work environment providing opportunities for collaborating with subject matter experts, a modern atmosphere in a classic building in Indianapolis.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Data Entry and Validation: Accurately input materials engineering data into the Ansys Granta database, ensuring completeness, consistency, and quality.
    • Data Cleansing: Identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in materials data within the database.
    • Data Classification: Classify and organize materials engineering data according to predefined categories and guidelines.
    • Data Mapping: Assist in mapping and integrating data from multiple sources into the Ansys Granta database structure.
    • Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the database to ensure it is up-to-date and operational.
    • Reporting: Generate and maintain reports related to data status, accuracy, and progress in the database.
    • Metadata Management: Ensure metadata related to materials data is accurately recorded and stored in compliance with best practices.
    • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with project managers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure data meets project requirements.
    • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation on data entry protocols, data structure, and any issues identified in the data sets.
    • Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving any data-related issues that arise during project execution or data management processes.

    Education Minimum Requirement : BS degree in engineering discipline or comparable degree from a 4-year school. We will also consider applicants with the equivalent combination of education, technical expertise, training, or work experience.

    Other R equirements: In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. You must be a US citizen for our work with US defense and other export-restricted information.

    Required:

    • B.S. degree in an engineering discipline
    • Flexible weekly hours: Hours will vary week to week and average between 5-15 hours per week, but can range from 0-20 hours.
    • Proficient computer skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Capacity to quickly understand and leverage new software
    • You must be a US citizen (for our work with US defense and other export restricted information)
    • Strong work ethic, drive, and ability to work both independently and on teams
    • Ability to move multiple tasks forward in parallel
    • Ability to meticulously check data for accuracy and consistency.
    • Strong organizational capabilities to handle diverse datasets
    • Ability to analyze data issues and provide solutions in a logical and structured manner and escalate as appropriate.
    • Familiarity with data management tools and databases
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Clear communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot data-related problems and suggest effective solutions.
    • Comfortable working within cross-functional teams, including engineers, to meet project needs.
    • Ability to adapt to new tools, and processes as they evolve in the data management landscape.

    Strong Candidates Will Also Have :

    • Experience working with customers
    • Professional experience in a technical field
    • Granta database experience
    • Jira project management software experience
    • Comfort working with technical materials engineering data including materials testing data.
