Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Technical Documentation Specialist with expertise in technical learning design. This role will be pivotal in creating, refining, and maintaining clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for processes, procedures, and workflows. The ideal candidate will have a knack for turning complex technical information into easily understandable materials that empower users and improve organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Documentation Creation:
Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, process guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and FAQs.
Ensure documentation meets organizational standards for clarity, accuracy, and usability.
Technical and Process Analysis:
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), designers, engineers, and operational staff to understand workflows and extract key information.
Analyze technical processes and translate them into step-by-step instructions and visual aids. \
Content Design:
Leverage learning design principles to create engaging, learner-centric documentation and resources.
Develop templates, infographics, and diagrams to enhance comprehension and retention.
Content Management:
Organize and manage documentation repositories to ensure easy access and version control.
Maintain a consistent tone, style, and formatting across all technical materials.
Collaboration and Training Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather feedback on documentation usability.
Support training programs by providing supplemental written guides and visual aids.
Continuous Improvement:
Regularly review and update documentation to reflect process changes, technological updates, and user feedback.
Research and implement best practices for technical writing and learning design.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Technical Communication, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in technical writing, process documentation, or learning design.
Proven experience creating documentation for technical processes or systems.
Skills:
Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Confluence, or similar.
Ability to create visual aids using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Adobe Creative Suite.
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning content creation tools such as Articulate, Captivate, or Camtasia.
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Adaptability to learn new tools, systems, and technologies quickly.
An inherent curiosity with the desire to dig deep to solve complex problems
A client service mentality, with the adaptability and willingness to collaborate openly with other people
A sense of ownership in the work that you do and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of technical design, instructional design principles, or adult learning methodologies.
Experience with Agile methodologies or working within development environments.
Basic understanding of coding or technical environments (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience in the construction or distribution industries would be an asset

Job Details
Full-Time, Exempt, In-person (Omaha based)
Salary Range: $58-70k a year + standard bonus
Healthcare Benefits: Standard REM
PTO: Two weeks a year
