    Overview:

    GoTab is a leading technology company specializing in Point of Sale (POS) and contactless ordering platforms for restaurants, retail, and entertainment venues. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Implementation Specialist to join our Deployment team and assist with the technical aspects of customer deployments.

    Job Summary:

    As a Technical Implementation Specialist, you will support the deployment team and account managers with hardware and software in complex environments. A general understanding of technology is highly desirable, and minimal travel is required, but we encourage visits to customer sites to gain more first-hand knowledge. If you’re a problem solver who thrives on no two days being the same, we want to hear from you! The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of programming logic and the technical aspects of product deployment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess the technical environment of customer sites during the sales process and develop deployment solutions tailored to known requirements, constraints, and expected outcomes.
    • Serve as a consultant by providing recommendations for delivering the best possible customer outcomes.
    • Identify hardware and software components needed for a successful installation.
    • Configure GoTab routers, printers, network equipment, and other peripherals necessary for the proposed technical solution.
    • Coordinate with third-party platform partners and customers to activate GoTab’s fully integrated POS solutions.
    • Respond to and resolve level 2 and 3 deployment support tickets in a timely manner.
    • Occasionally work a half-day on weekends to support clients during their busiest times.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Experience with IoT or low-power computing devices like Raspberry Pi.
    • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to take initiative are essential.
    • You must have a solid understanding of IP networking, both wired and wireless.
    • Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line utilities is required, including connecting to remote devices over SSH.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in hardware installation or technical support roles.
    • You must have a solid understanding of IP networking, both wired and wireless
    • Proficiency with command-line text editors such as Vim, Emacs, or Nano is necessary.
    • You should be familiar with using, programming, or administering common point-of-sale systems or similar platforms.
    • Experience with side-loading apps on Android hardware.

    Work Conditions:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. This position may occasionally require operating in a restaurant, retail, or entertainment setting and the ability to lift POS products and supplies (up to ~25 pounds). This job is in-person 5 days a week in our Arlington, VA office, located on top of the Courthouse Metro with bus service and ample parking.
