    So, what will the Technical Level Cybersecurity Advisor at Terrestris do?

    The ** Technical Level Cybersecurity Advisor** is responsible for providing expert-level technical cybersecurity advisory support. The Cybersecurity Advisor will assist personnel in meeting their cybersecurity objectives, ensuring the capabilities of the end users to perform tasks independently. The advisor will accomplish this by offering expert advice, analysis, and recommendations to Host Technical personnel, ultimately fostering self-sufficiency and enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture.

    What does a typical day look like for a Technical Level Cybersecurity Advisor?

    The Technical Level Cybersecurity Advisor's day is dynamic. The role involves reviewing task order objectives, collaborating with local personnel to address cybersecurity challenges, and providing expert advice on risk mitigation. The advisor mentors technical staff, conducts vulnerability assessments, and delivers briefings to senior officials. The day includes reviewing incident reports, advising on security compliance, and preparing reports and recommendations. The advisor remains flexible, adjusting to evolving needs and preparing for future tasks.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the person we're looking for if you have:

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including significant hands-on technical expertise in the field.
    • Experience advising or working with Host Nation/Regional or International Organizations is highly preferred.

    Certifications (at least one of the following):

    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • NIST Cyber Security Professional (NCSP)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CASP)
    • Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
    • Security+

    Experience/Skills:

    • Demonstrated expertise in technical cybersecurity analysis, risk management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
    • Proficient with various cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks.
    • Strong knowledge of national and international cybersecurity regulations, policies, and best practices.
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Previous experience in mentoring or coaching technical personnel to enhance their capabilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Achieved the rank of E-6 in the military, or GS-11 in the federal government, or equivalent level of responsibility in the private sector.

    • May require proficiency in foreign languages, depending on the task order.

    • Previous experience living/working overseas or working with mid-level government leaders or military officials is desirable.

    • Foreign Language Proficiency: Depending on the specific Task Order, foreign language proficiency may be required.

    • Overseas Experience: Experience living and/or working overseas, particularly in diverse, international contexts, is highly desirable.

    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex cybersecurity issues and provide actionable recommendations.

    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience preparing reports, presentations, and training materials.

    • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams in international or cross-cultural settings.

    • Willingness to travel as required by mission objectives.

    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
