Job Title: Technical Program Manager III

At Reality Labs, we are dedicated to exploring, innovating, and designing cutting-edge interfaces and hardware subsystems that redefine virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We seek a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager III to join our team. This role will support Core Operating System and Manufacturing initiatives for multiple wearable products.
We are particularly looking for a candidate with deep expertise in technical program management and software engineering to lead manufacturing test software programs. This involves enabling factory test stations to validate and bring up new products effectively. The ideal candidate has a robust background in consumer device product development and is adept at bridging the gap between engineering and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cross-functional programs, fostering relationships across diverse teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between engineering and manufacturing teams, ensuring clear communication and status updates.
- Oversee and coordinate hardware, firmware, and software bring-up activities.
- Drive accountability and execution in software and firmware development areas.
- Understand technology requirements, roadmaps, and dependencies to proactively mitigate risks.
- Establish technical expertise to serve as the primary escalation point for execution challenges.
- Resolve conflicts, clarify priorities, and maintain progress in ambiguous or complex programs.
- Provide hands-on program management across analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and refine best practices and development processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management.
- Background in software or firmware development for consumer electronics.
- Proven track record of driving execution in highly ambiguous and complex product or program environments.
- Ability to operate autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrating critical thinking and leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for large-scale systems.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans.
- Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to deployment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience aligning requirements, planning, and executing consumer electronics manufacturing readiness for factory builds throughout all product development phases.
- MBA or an advanced related degree.
- PMP or PMI certification.
