    We are looking for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Program Manager who will have the opportunity to provide management and leadership through the full product lifecycle, including quotation creation, purchase order conversion to internal sales order, manufacturing documentation release through the ECO process, and production management through the ERP system with a focus on issue resolution and critical path management.

    This position reports to the Director of NPI and supports various functions including process design, manufacturing documentation definition, production tooling design, process improvement, and sales-quotation support.     Are you:

    PERSUASIVE AND SKILLED IN THE ART OF NEGOTIATION. You collaborate with internal teams and bring recommendations for time and cost management that attends to the interest of all parties, to create a win-win situation for the company and the customer. You know when to be assertive and how to influence the point of view of others by providing information to reduce uncertainty.

    TECHNICALLY ASTUTE AND MECHANICALLY INCLINED. You understand the technical aspects of the products being developed such as robotic and motion systems, optics, power distribution units and control panels, as well as an understanding of the broader manufacturing industries (semiconductor, medical, energy, etc.) and market trends. You have a knack for how electro-mechanical systems are put together and how they work.

    EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT WITH A STRONG LEADERSHIP PRESENCE. You are able to manage your emotions and respond positively to the emotions of others. You hold team members accountable and invest in employees by coaching them through difficult situations and in their career development goals.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

    Within the first 30 days and ongoing:

    ● Learns Applied Engineering’s mission, principles, policies, and operational procedures.

    ● Meets and begins to develop relationships with the team members in all departments.

    ● By 60 days, leads communication with customers asking for feedback and support from experienced NPI team members as needed.

    ● By 60 days, begins to create quotes by reviewing customer requests against current manufacturing capabilities and aligns bill of materials (BOM) with supply chain to assess risk.

    3 months and ongoing:

    ● Collaborates with the purchasing and engineering team to ensure timely delivery of key components for manufacturing pilot runs and mass production dates. Summarizes deliverables in a Gantt with critical path.

    ● Leads the quote process with supervision of the Director of NPI and receives feedback until signed off to do independently.

    ● Learns the process of exporting and reading reports from the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to assess what is impacting projects and measure production.

    ● Calculates estimates to complete and reports to management on variances of actual vs. planned cost.

    6 months and ongoing:

    ● Leads tours of the manufacturing floor and can answer questions with full confidence about the technology AE works with.

    ● Is independent in pulling ERP reports & reviewing the details to assess the impact & efficiency of a project.

    ● Independently meets with customers for weekly status reviews and manages schedule and timeline for all action items from meeting agendas.

    12 months and ongoing:

    ● Creates a plan with leadership and begins to take on responsibilities to lead aspects of the job or team members that make sense for the team.

    ● Receives performance metrics based on accuracy, thoroughness, productivity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to timely completion to review and create SMART goals to increase efficiency and effectiveness for the year.

    ● Manages a variety or combination of large and small customer projects independently.

    EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

    10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, material management, mechanical assembly, production planning, or purchasing (preferably in equipment manufacturing) required

    Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Business Management or other related fields required

    Ability to effectively work with various computer software programs including Visio, Project & highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Enterprise Resource Planning system required

    Proven experience working with semiconductors, electro-mechanical robotics, control systems, power distribution, and/or vacuum systems preferred

    Shows a strong understanding of Bill of Material structures & electronic schematics preferred Proven experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) process highly preferred

    Demonstrates a strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) highly preferred

    Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and analytical skills a must

    Experience in a manufacturing sales role a plus

    COMPENSATION & COMPANY BENEFITS INCLUDE:

    The compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000, depending on experience & skillset.
