Title: Technical Product Support and Sales
Location: Parsippany, NJ

The Chatham Group, a dynamic talent acquisition firm focused on the science and technology-based industries, is seeking candidates for Technical Product Support and Sales. Our client is a global manufacturer of vital chemical products used in the food, agricultural, animal feed, petrochemical, and water treatment industries. The Company is committed to supplying the highest-quality products, which are supported by strategic logistics and in-depth customer and technical service.
GENERAL SUMMARY
This is a position that involves technical service and sales activities in the chemical industry. Responsible for technical support of chemical products sold in the USA and Canada, as well as performing regular sales, marketing, and business development activities. In addition, the position provides significant support to the business in quality control, EHS, and regulatory compliance. Sales responsibility for regions and products is about 50% of the role while technical, quality, EHS and regulatory are about 50%.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage technical product services for the Company’s products which includes the following activities as well as others:
- Product sample collection, shipping and follow up
- Customer Questionnaires’ and document support
- COA/Specification creation and maintenance
- Customer technical communications
- Website and document updates
- Develop and maintain regulatory compliance for all products and packaging
- Follow technical and regulatory rules for USA and Canada, updating procedures and operations as needed to remain compliant
- Generate and maintain Product Safety information and Technical Literature (SDS, TDS)
- Manage Quality and Regulatory activities which includes:
- Recording and resolving customer and supplier complaints
- Development and maintenance of quality system
- Maintaining FDA and other regulatory compliance including FSMA, FSVP, and TSCA
- Review, maintain, and manage compliant labeling and safety data sheets
Provide operational support to outside warehousing and toll blending operations. - Manage toll blending planning, raw materials, and operations
- Trips to warehouse for sampling, resolving problems and disposals
- Trips to toll blender as needed to support operations
- Provide business support to Company’s operations as needed to resolve customer and colleague questions in areas of responsibility. Work with customer service to resolve order and planning issues.
- Significant participation in sales and marketing activities including making customers visits and communications with customers. Provide account management to assigned customers and maintain relationships in order to maximize market share and pricing. Utilize Esseco software to update pricing as needed. Assist with introduction of new products through market evaluations, sales analysis and contacting prospective new customers.
- Contribute information to technical service and business development strategies by evaluating current product results, identifying needs to be fulfilled, monitoring competitive products, and analyzing and relaying customer feedback.
- Detect and analyze changes in market environment and promptly respond to resulting changes in customer needs.
- Assist in new product development as needed to introduce new Esseco product lines
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required, in a relevant scientific field such as chemistry, engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience/exposure within a laboratory or regulatory department, or plant operations.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in technical sales or support
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% as needed
- Excellent computer skills with significant Excel capabilities
