Roles and Responsibilities
The Technical Services Associate will be responsible for coordinating technical activities across multiple renewable energy projects, ensuring effective collaboration between land & title teams, development teams, vendors, and contractors. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will facilitate the efficient execution of technical plans, RFP's and Contract Management and help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Project Coordination:
- Assist project developers in planning, coordinating, and monitoring the progress of renewable energy projects.
- Ensure technical documentation is maintained and updated across all projects.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with technical requirements.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to field teams, ensuring the successful implementation of renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, and battery storage solutions.
- Coordinate with land & title and development teams to address technical challenges and ensure adherence to design standards and regulations.
- Provide Civil design function for preliminary designs of roadways, slope easements, drainage systems and stormwater management plans.
Vendor & Contractor Liaison:
- Prepare RFP documentation, manage RFP and selection process, and process change orders, as appropriate.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of components and services.
- Review technical specifications and ensure they meet project requirements.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Provide contract management services on behalf of developers for all vendors and third-party consultants ensuring document compliance, change orders, and contract closeouts.
- Prepare and manage civil technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Support the creation of progress reports for stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Assist in compiling project close-out documents, including as-built drawings, test results, and warranty information.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to renewable energy installations.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in renewable energy.
Other Project as Assigned
This position may take on other projects/tasks as needed by the business
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in a technical role within the renewable energy sector, preferably in project coordination or management
- Familiarity with wind projects
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Proficiency in project management tools (i.e. MS Project, Smartsheets)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS software, or other technical tools is a plus
- Familiarity with industry standards
Travel:
Up to 50% travel to project sites.
