Coleman IT Group is looking for a dynamic, talented and self-motivated Technical Services Director to join our South Bay Area team. Since 2000 we have been providing IT systems management and support services to our small business and residential clients in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. We work with a wide variety of privately owned, professional businesses in a variety of industries (healthcare, legal, accounting, construction etc.) as their outsourced IT department to help them manage and get them most from their IT assets and systems. This is a Sr. Management position with responsibilities for directing and coordinating all aspects of the company’s technical staff in its work in order to provide our client’s with the highest level of managed IT services and support.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate efforts to define, maintain and improve and enforce replicable best practices for internal and client IT systems oversight and management.
• Manage oversight of IT systems including, system performance, security, stability and reliability, regulatory compliance issues, data integrity, network devices, servers, storage, and data management in accordance with service level and client contract requirements and agreements.
• Define, develop, and track strategic and tactical technology project activity toward the timely and effective delivery of products and services to clients.
• Manage and enforce the proper use of project related communications tools including ticketing, routine status reporting, milestone reviews, and other related communications to keep documentation current and key stakeholders adequately informed.
• Create and manage the procedural instructions for internal and external project tasks and effectively gather project requirements that guide the IT team in project planning, resourcing and project execution.
• Plan and execute business case assessments with well-defined requirements that are clear and actionable.
• Project planning execution and leadership, status/progress reporting, meeting facilitation, escalation/resolution and risk identification and management.
• Work and assist team members with setting priorities, providing guidance in the completion of tasks of identifying issues, while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement for the technology team.
Experience and Skills
• Leading complex technical change management activities including: physical moves, application upgrades and rollouts and hardware migrations in a fast paced environment that can require coordinating the demands for quality results and fast timelines.
• Developing requirements specifications according to company and industry “Best Practice” standards and templates
• Estimate project budgets, track resources for potential revenue, review staffing needs and expenses to achieve project goals, milestones, and key performance indicators.
• Designing solutions that effectively address technical, schedule and budgetary challenges.
• Creating project methodologies and related implementation plans.
• Application of proven and effective communication styles and skills (verbal and written) with all levels of an organization
• Building consensus around recommendations, gain alignment across all stakeholders.
• Making presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of IT process and infrastructure/data related projects such as networks, hardware, operating systems and applications
• Current knowledge and expertise.
• Expertise with emerging SMB technologies and applications, cloud applications, hosting, DNS and related on-line and SaaS services and products.
• Demonstrated success at building and leading teams and partnerships.
• Excellent business and analytical skills, including financial analysis budgeting, problem solving, organizational and time management.
• Two to five years’ experience as a technical project manager or leader in a technical area, 5+ years hands-on experience with computers, networking and related hardware/software.
• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline. However, combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education.
