    Job Title: Technical Service Librarian
    Location: On Site in Provo, Utah
    Schedule: Full Time, Exempt (Typically M-F; 40 hours per week)

    The Technical Services Librarian at Noorda-COM Library is responsible for ensuring access to print and digital collections through electronic resources management. This role supports the library's mission to advance medical knowledge and research by providing expert assistance with literature searches and extensive electronic resources. The librarian will oversee cataloging, interlibrary loan operations, and contribute to student education and scholarly activities, fostering a positive digital user experience for faculty, students, and staff.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Assist the Director with executing the vision of the Noorda-COM Michael D. Elton Library.

    · Manage the operations of library services within budget parameters.

    · Oversee the life cycle of physical and electronic resources, including ordering, processing, and cataloging.

    · Ensure the integrity of the library’s database of bibliographic records.

    · Oversee interlibrary loan operations and manage electronic resource access.

    · Nurture relationships with the Noorda community and assist with institutional repository administration.

    · Create and present information literacy modules and content to students.

    · Publish and present at conferences on library science topics.

    · Troubleshoot electronic resource access issues with vendors.

    · Maintain research guides and assist with library website user experience

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Education and Certification:

    · A master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited program.

    Required Experience:

    · Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional role in a library or related institution is required.

    · Experience in a health sciences library is preferred.

    Required Qualifications:

    · Knowledge of electronic resource management and access.

    · Experience managing a knowledge base, link resolver, discovery service, and/or an integrated library system.

    · Prior experience with Interlibrary Loan.

    · Cataloging experience.

    · Strong customer service orientation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Experience providing library instruction.

    · Working knowledge of medical information resources such as PubMed.

    · Experience with copyright and fair use principles.

    · Experience with Springshare products, PubMed, Koha, Google Scholar, Browzine, and individual publishers to link to Noorda’s electronic resources holdings.

    · Experience in a health sciences library preferred, but academic or special library experience will be considered.

    · Creative and scholarly work and service commitment commensurate with appointment to the level of Library Assistant Professor or above.
