Job Description
We are looking for an Engineer to join our technical services team at Haile, which provides technical work for the Underground and Open Pit operations.

The intention of this role is to rotate throughout technical services to support business needs, including both Underground and Open Pit, such as medium-range planning, short-range scheduling, drill and blast, continuous improvement, geotechnical engineering and more. Key Result Area
- Operational responsibilities may include
- Create and oversee the execution of Drill and Blast designs.
- Prepare and deliver a 0 to 3-month forecast in line with the Life-of-Mine and enable the business to meet its objectives in terms of production
- Assist in managing scheduling systems required to execute the mine plan effectively.
- Identifies possible upcoming schedule risks and initiates control measures to mitigate the effects on the mine plan.
- Actively look for opportunities to accelerate work/implement cost savings to provide schedule opportunities in areas of control.
- Assist with month-end reports, including spatial and mine plan attainment, and communicate with all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all works under the area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end users’ requirements.

- Promoting safety awareness and environmental responsibility amongst company and contract personnel.
- Report all personal injuries and incidents and assisting with investigations.
- Actively supporting and participate in safety and environmental initiatives.
- Accepting accountability to ensure personal safety and the safety of others whilst protecting the environment.
- Monitor the reporting of workplace incidents and hazards to ensure effective risk mitigation is maintained.
- Undertake workplace inspections and audits to ensure site standards are being adhered to.
- Support incident investigations that occur within area of control
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
- Must be able to climb 25’ vertical ladder sections unaided.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
