POSITION SUMMARY: Paul Davis Restoration, Inc. is a national franchise organization that provides property damage emergency services, restoration, and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm, and other disasters. The Technical Trainer’s primary responsibility is to organize and conduct technical training on the following IICRC certifications: WRT, ASD, & FSRT, and estimating/scoping. This role will develop learning objectives, write training programs, and facilitate training classes at Paul Davis University and locations throughout North America.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Currently be an approved IICRC Instructor or be capable of obtaining an approved Instructor status within 12 months
Currently be Xactimate Certified or affiliated trainer or capable of obtaining certification within 6 months
Participate in and facilitate IICRC training classes and other relevant training classes within the industry
Develop and facilitate courses related to reconstruction scoping and construction methods.
Develop learning objectives for training classes
Develop and complete training programs and outlines for training classes
Create and complete handouts, hands-on exercises, and tests for training classes
Collaborate with the training department on objectives and aspects of the training classes
Facilitates training classes at Paul Davis University and required locations throughout North America
Complete administrative work regarding training class notes and attendees
Attends and participates in weekly GS&R meetings with management
Attends and participates in company meetings and training
Participates and completes certifications for required IICRC courses
Maintains IICRC Instructor Maintenance Requirement Program
Other duties as assigned
COMPETENCY - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowePoint, One Drive, Share Point, Adobe, etc.)
Knowledge of WTR, ASD, and FSRT certifications through IICRC
Extensive knowledge of the restoration and reconstruction industry
Extensive knowledge of industry-based software (i.e., Xactimate, Symbility, DASH (RMS))
Excellent communication skills

Ability to create and facilitate lesson plans for training classes

Ability to pass and maintain the required IICRC certifications

REQUIRIED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, related field, or relevant experience.
7 plus years’ practical experience working within the restoration field
IICRC certifications (90% or higher grade) in WRT, ASD, and FSRT
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the restoration industry regarding water mitigation, mold remediation, lead and asbestos abatement, contents cleaning, contents packing, structure cleaning, and reconstruction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 100% of the time
The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and computer printer
Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents
Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone
Occasionally will lift up to 10lbs
Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee will be working remotely in their home office and will be exposed to normal conditions of air conditioning and heat. Most work will be conducted over email, video conferencing, and telephone. Employees must have access to a stable internet connection when working out of the office. Employee will be subject to outdoor temperatures while traveling. Employees must use provided VPN technology to securely connect remotely. The successful person must be productive with minimal supervision.
TRAVEL:
This position may require up to 75% travel. This position requires travel to our home office in Jacksonville, FL and throughout North America. This position will also participate in team meetings, conferences, and training as required.
