    Job Description

    Summary

    The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting.

    Essential Functions

    1. Perform and respond to instrumentation and electrical repair and troubleshooting. Repairs can include working with motors, motor starters, running conduit, and wire pulling as well as troubleshooting and repairing the PLC/DCS systems.
    2. Move, set, and calibrate controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms on control panels.
    3. Responsible for monitoring and addressing control process variables such a: flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units such which includes heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizer, compressors, exchangers, and other units.
    4. Determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns.
    5. Inspect equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction including leaks, breakages and faulty valves Determines repair and maintenance of equipment.
    6. Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
    7. Lubricate equipment as necessary.
    8. Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
    9. Ensure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
    10. Complete other duties as assigned by management.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 3+ years of mechanical experience required

    Specialized Knowledge

    • Knowledge of industrial equipment operations and care
    • Experienced in ARC and MIG welding
    • Mechanical knowledge of bearing changes, pumps, and conveyors
    • PLC/DCS knowledge
    • Knowledge of Hart Communication Systems, Profibus wiring and com methods, and Device-net
    • Ability to read and update electrical prints
    • Understanding of discrete and analog systems
    • Pneumatic Experience & Hydraulic Experience strongly preferred

    Competencies

    • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in the areas of planning, organizing, interpersonal communications
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills

    Travel

    • Less than 5% travel required

    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

    • Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs, and work at heights.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
    • The employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditions.
    • The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments.
    • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions.
    • The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the process.
