Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Technology Coordinator to manage our IT environment. The physical network includes servers, VLANs, WiFi, desktop computers, Chromebooks, laptops, printers, door access controls, cameras, and school website. The software environment includes both Windows, Chrome, MS Office, Google Workspace for Education, security capability, and other features. The IT Coordinator will organize responsibilities with outside IT support services. The ideal candidate will provide technical support for staff, students, and faculty, ensuring that our technology systems operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong commitment to service, a passion for education, and a willingness to embody the values of our school community. The Technology Coordinator has decision-making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies and in consultation with the Head of School. The position is hired and evaluated by the Head of School.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Christian education and mission of the school
Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct, Statement of Faith and policies of DCS
Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Provide timely technical support to staff, students, and faculty via phone, email, and in-person.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on school computers and devices.
The operation, management, installation and configurations of computer systems, printers,
peripherals, camera systems, phone systems, Chromebooks, network accounts and Google accounts
Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining static content on public website and ensuring the content meets standards for grammar, style, coding and uniformity.
Maintain an inventory of technology resources and assist in the procurement of new equipment as needed.
Coordinates and plans moves, adds and changes of all PC hardware
Establishes and maintains network security
Monitor and troubleshoot network issues, collaborating with external vendors when necessary.
Educate staff & students on best practices for technology use, including cybersecurity awareness
Develop and maintain documentation of technical procedures and user guides
Plans for the purchase of software and hardware
Ensures software in the school is properly licensed
Assist with the integration of educational technology into classroom environments.
Support special projects and initiatives as directed by the Head of School
Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing IT projects
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in an educational environment
Strong knowledge of Windows and Chrome operating systems, as well as common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
Familiarity with computer network protocols and hardware troubleshooting - Strong problem-solving ability with both hardware and software
Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and responding to emergencies - Excellent communication in both written and verbal form and interpersonal skills
Able to teach faculty, staff and students in a educational setting
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proclivity towards staying up to date with industry developments in hardware and software, especially those related to education
