    Job Summary:

    The Assistant Controller is a critical member of the accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, this individual must have multi-national experience as TECTRAN operates facilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China. Understanding these markets, and the associated transactions that are generated, is of utmost importance to the success of the accounting team and the organization.

    This individual must be able to work independently while prioritizing tasks to adhere to reporting deadlines. Attention to detail, quality of work, and follow-through on assignments are additional key skills needed to succeed in this position. Furthermore, a high degree of accuracy, strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and being results driven, proactive, and self-motivated are important attributes for this role.

    Responsibilities:

    · Analyzes processes within the finance/accounting functions to improve quality and efficiencies

    · Asset and capital project expense tracking

    · Bank reconciliations and associated foreign currency transactions

    · Calculates commissions and rebates monthly

    · Completes quarterly and annual tax filings for US and Canadian entities

    · Cost monitoring and tracking

    · Develops, implements, modifies, and documents recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology

    · Examines and evaluates financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity

    · Generates daily sales and contribution margins

    · General ledger reconciliations

    · Inspects account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions

    · Inventory monitoring and analysis

    · Liaise with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams at our US and Canada offices

    · Prepares and post journal entries

    · Other ad hoc projects as required

    · Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Controller

    Education & Experience:

    · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Business, Data Analytics, Economics, etc.)

    · CMA certification or Master’s Degree (preferred)

    · 3 – 5 years of related experience

    · Experience with a multi-national company

    · Experience in manufacturing industry (preferred)

    · Experience in ERP environment (Epicor and/or Vena system knowledge is preferred)

    Required Skills & Abilities:

    · Sound knowledge and understanding of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Canadian IFRS

    · Strong analytical skills to review schedule and cost control information and ensure accuracy as well as identify issues, concerns, and potential mitigations

    · Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

    · Proficient in using Microsoft Office products, especially use of macros and analytical tools

    · Excellent time management skills, and detailed-oriented

    · Works both collaboratively and independently successfully

    · Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    · Ability to meet deadlines

    Physical Requirements:

    · Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

    · Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
