  • Responsibilities

    PRIMARY FUNCTION: Oversee as well as facilitate in the delivery of programs and activities within the teen and tween programs encompassing the Formula For Impact priority outcomes of academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles as well as assuming recruitment responsibilities for the teen and tween programs.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan and oversee the administration of designated teen programs and activities supporting the Formula For Impact priority outcomes

    • Responsible for coordinating use of facility for teens; ie gym use, outdoor use, etc.

    • Responsible for going to schools for games and other recreational settings for recruitment of teens

    • Responsible for organizing meaningful fieldtrips for teens

    • Plan and organize teen special events

    • Continually evaluate teen and tween programs, reporting results to the Program Director according to established deadlines and addressing gender or cultural needs of members

    • Collect data and prepare regular reports as needed for programs, funding sources and other projects i.e. Meth Smarts, Smart Moves, Passport to Manhood

    • Oversee proper teen record keeping including daily attendance, program participation, achievement, problems/issues, etc.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • May participate in special programs and/or events.
    • May be required to meet and/or communicate directly with classroom teachers regarding member needs/accomplishments.
    • Maintain high standard of customer service in dealing with members, parents, volunteers, other staff members and the general public.
    • Assume other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. (High School diploma or GED, preferred).
    • Some experience in working with children, preferably school-aged children.
    • Basic knowledge of youth development.
    • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior challenges.
    • Demonstrate customer service skills.
    • Ability to plan and implement programs/activities for youth.
    • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
    • Must complete CPR and First Aid certification when offered.
    • Valid Missouri State Driver’s License, if operating Club vehicles.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to squat or bend to communicate at youths’ level.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds for short periods of time.
    • Must be able to participate in physical activities throughout the facility, on the property and/or on field trips.
