    Job Description

    Olsson’s Facility Engineering and Design Team delivers cutting-edge solutions for data centers, commercial developments, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and military installations. Our expertise spans technical analysis, design services, and professional consulting, ensuring high-quality, future-ready infrastructure.

    As a Telecom Designer, you’ll play a key role in supporting Data Center projects, assisting in the design and documentation of telecommunications and low-voltage systems. You will work with experienced designers and engineers to develop high-performance fiber, structured cabling, and security systems that support global data operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the design and layout of telecommunications and low-voltage systems for data centers.
    • Support the development of MDF/IDF/Demarc room designs, fiber/copper cabling layouts, and security systems.
    • Utilize BIM/CAD tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) to create detailed models and design documents.
    • Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure compliance with BICSI, TIA, and industry standards.
    • Assist with site visits and field verifications to support design accuracy and constructability.
    • Participate in client meetings and internal coordination efforts to ensure seamless project execution.

    You bring to the team:

    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
    • Willing to obtain RCDD, CTS, CTS-D certifications.
    • 3+ years of experience in CAD/BIM design for telecom, structured cabling, or low-voltage systems.
    • Experience in data center design or mission-critical facilities (preferred).
    • Familiarity with BICSI and TIA standards.
    • Experience in Cellular DAS, PSDAS, ROIP, and ERRCS design is a plus
    • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
