  • Responsibilities

    Queens electrical contractor seeks Telecom Estimator for their growing business.

    The ICT Systems Estimator will manage and support the complete life cycle of all size projects, including moderately-to-highly complex projects. Under the supervision of a Senior Estimator, the ICT Systems Estimator will utilize various estimating tools and software to complete customer designs and facilitate project estimates.

    Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Types of projects include all types of low voltage systems such as Structured Cabling (VDV), Audio-Video, Security, Sound Masking, and Distributed Antenna Systems. Inclusive of Cat6, Cat6A, Fiber Opti, Multi-Conductor and Coaxial cables, termination hardware, racks and support hardware.

    • Ability to develop a bill of materials from a project takeoff, estimate material pricing, and estimate labor hours for turn-key proposal generation.

    • Collaborate with Project Managers and Preconstruction Teams to coordinate meetings and review documents.

    • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to write a scope of work and system narrative.

    • Manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors

    • Ability to understand blueprints and technical drawings.

    • Strong understanding of how to complete takeoffs.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    • Flexibility to adapt to changing customer priorities and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) and estimating software.

    Education and Experience:

    • 3-5 years' experience working with Structured Cabling, Physical Security, Audio/Visual and/or other technology-based systems.

    • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) and estimating software.

    • Related experience working in the trades/contracting/sub-contracting industry.

    • Knowledge of low voltage technology solutions.

    • Knowledge of BICSI
    \- structured cabling design technologies and standards.

    • Demonstrates prioritization, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

    • BICSI certification
    is a plus.

    • AutoCAD experience is a plus.

     

    Full-time position based out of College Point (NYC).

    Salary: $75,000-$90,000 per year-possibly more for the right person
