Job Summary
Wright Technical Services is proud to represent a highly respected Fortune 500 Manufacturer and Industry Leader for this position. We are seeking an experienced Systems Migration engineer specializing in Telecom/Voice systems to lead the transition from legacy phone systems to the 8x8 cloud communication platform. This role requires a deep understanding of voice network design, system integration, and direct experience with 8x8 (or similar product) implementations. The contractor will be responsible for system analysis, design, deployment, and ensuring seamless migration while providing end-user support and training.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years/ experience in Telecom, Voice, and Network/System IT Infrastructure
- Expert-level knowledge and experience with Telecom/Voice cloud communications systems (8x8 preferred).
- Strong understanding of voice network design, SIP trunking, and integration with Microsoft Teams.
- Proven experience in system migration from legacy voice platforms to cloud-based systems.
- Familiarity with DID and Toll-Free number porting processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-technical customers.
- Experience in MACD support and handling 8x8 support issues.
- Ability to train diverse user groups and provide ongoing system support.
Description
- Systems Analysis & Surveys:
- Conduct detailed system assessments of existing legacy voice systems.
- Perform surveys to gather data and plan the transition to the 8x8 voice platform.
- Integration & Configuration:
- Integrate 8x8 with Microsoft Teams using direct routing.
- Implement SIP trunking for intra-system dialing.
- Design and deploy 8x8 voice networks tailored to customer needs.
- Customer Engagement & Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with non-technical customers to gather and document voice system requirements.
- Translate customer specifications into actionable technical tasks, such as:
- Auto Attendant setups
- Hunt Group configurations
- Paging system integrations
- Telephone placement and Softphone deployment
- Dial Plan Development & Number Porting:
- Develop and configure dial plans according to business needs.
- Manage the porting of local DID and Toll-Free telephone numbers, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide MACD (Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletes) support for the new 8x8 system.
- Open, track, and resolve service-related issues through 8x8 support channels.
- End-User Training: Train various user groups, including administrative assistants, knowledge workers, and shop floor employees, on the new 8x8 system functionalities.
- Independent Work & Results-Oriented Approach: Operate as a self-driven, independent worker who delivers high-quality results in a timely manner.
