    Job Description

CCE is looking for outgoing and positive candidates with strong communications skills who are passionate about protecting the environment and making a difference. Telephone Outreach Staff are integral in maintaining CCE’s personal relationships with our members which allows these campaigns to be successful. As part of our team, you will call members to educate, fundraise, and organize them around urgent environmental and public health campaigns. No experience needed! We will provide two weeks of paid training in which you will learn about the campaigns and fundraising strategies. Why wait for change? You can be part of the change by inspiring our members to act on the local level ensuring their voices are heard to push forth meaningful environmental legislation.

    Current Campaign:

In New York, our sewage and drinking water infrastructure is aging and in disrepair putting public health and the environment at risk. The EPA estimates that it will cost approximately $90 billion to upgrade New York State’s wastewater and drinking infrastructure.

In 2024, we successfully worked to maintain funding at $500 million for clean water infrastructure in the NYS budget bringing the state’s nation-leading investments in clean water infrastructure up to $5.5 billion since 2017. This is a step in the right direction however, it’s not enough. This year we are pressuring Governor Hochul to include $600 million for the Clean Water Infrastructure Act in the 2025-2026 NYS budget. This vital funding will help replace lead service lines, treat emerging contaminants in our drinking water, upgrade sewage treatment plants, replace failing septic systems, and ensure that drinking water is affordable for all New Yorkers!
