Precise is currently looking for a Sr. Linux Server Admin in support of NSWC Crane Division. THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO -
- Install, manage, configure, administer and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Update and maintain procedural and configuration management documentation
- Provide data and support application rationalization and registration in DADMS and DITPR-DON
- Utilize PowerShell and automation to the fullest extent possible and maintain the library of PowerShell scripts and process documentation
- Maintain consistency across the NSWC Crane database environment
- Create jobs and install scripts to support reporting, alerting, auditing, at the database instance level
- Configure database mail where allowed by the environment and develop scripts as needed to support this tasks.
- Support application developers by applying changes to test and production databases through an approved release and deployment process.
- Provide analysis of issues affecting performance and capacity
- Ensure backup/recovery of databases and monitor backup capacity.
- Analyze application/project data requirements and specification.
- Design, normalize, develop, install and modify databases.
- Assist application developers by performing data capacity analysis based on existing trends and anticipated changes in database design.
- Install, configure, and maintain database management system operating systems and software.
- Perform analysis for planning anticipated changes in database design due to data capacity.
- Develop database scripts and stored procedures.
- Develop and administer data standards, policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement data mining and data warehousing programs.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.
- Maintain data logistics support as required on all databases.
- Provide response and resolution to assigned Service Desk requests.
- Configure and implement Cybersecurity (CS) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) security controls in accordance with local, Navy and DOD procedures.
- Install, manage, configure, administer, and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Hardware to include but not limited to rack servers, storage arrays, firmware, RAID, Trusted Platform Module (TPM).

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE -
- Must hold Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Baseline Qualifications for CSWF Specialty Area and Proficiency Level per Section 6.23.2 Cyber Security Workforce Qualifications.
- Seven (7) years of full-time professional experience working with the configuration, deployment, and operation and maintenance of Linux server operating systems.
- At least five (5) years specific experience in managing Red Hat Linux and Ubuntu.
- At least two (2) years administering High Performance Computing Clusters
- At least (2) years of professional experience in Linux administration in Cloud environments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION - Master’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
