    Our Quality Engineers perform quality assurance activities concerned with the engineering of products, materials, and processes.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    • Acts as liaison between departments and makes independent decisions to insure adherence to quality procedures. Work within a team construct in support of the assigned program.
    • Implements quality procedures.
    • Develops and maintains monthly program status.
    • Collects data for metrics reporting, and analyzes results of activities for potentially adverse trends.
    • Prepares status reports for management.
    • Generates and tracks responses to internal CARs and supplier CARs.
    • Maintains an effective monitoring program, including the use of PC-based tools for planning, tracking and evaluating performance.

    HARDWARE:

     

    • Performs final inspection and sell-off, and witnesses testing.
    • Answers questions relating to standard practices and procedures.
    • Develops statements of work for subcontractors.
    • Performs detailed contract reviews to determine the quality assurance requirements.
    • Participates in design reviews and formal customer reviews and audits.
    • Supports pre-award physical surveys of vendor facilities as a team member with other departments.
    • Reviews and approves under direction of the Manager: purchase requisitions, purchase orders, manufacturing operation sheets, manufacturing orders, drawings, test and calibration procedures.
    • Develops inspection instructions and inspection alerts.
    • Acts as a member of the Engineering Change Board.
    • Chairs the Material Review Board and the Corrective Action and Failure Review Board,
    • Resolves minor issues between quality engineers, production control and methods personnel.
    • Witnesses environmental and operational testing.
    • Performs audits of procedures and special processes.
    • Maintains statistical process controls.
    • Maintains procedures and records of activities performed.
    • Perform trend analysis inclusive of FMECA, process, workmanship and component failures. Assists in analyzing part failures.
    • Facilitates Root cause Corrective Action (RCCA).

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university.

    EXPERIENCE: 0-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

    OTHER:  

    • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.
    • Knowledge of PC’s and their operating systems. (Excel, Word, Power point , Access or rational database development)
    • Detailed knowledge of MIL-Q-9858A and MIL-STD-1520 requirements.
    • Ability to use standard electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, counters, frequency meters, logic analyzers, etc.
    • Ability to use mechanical measurement equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators and scales.
