    How will this role impact First Command?

    The Communication Intern is responsible for updating advisor online bios, managing responses to online reviews, and activating engagement of home office employees through digital and charitable efforts. The ideal candidate has excellent writing and listening skills and wants to learn more about the financial services industry.


    What will the employee do in this role?

    · You will work closely with the communication team, charitable giving team and with district advisors

    · Tasked with updating online bios

    · Perform online review research and respond appropriately

    · Attend and assist with select events on behalf of the Charitable Giving team

    · Collaborate with home office employees on engagement strategy

    · All other duties as assigned

    What skills & qualifications does this employee need?

    Education

    · Must be a full time undergrad/grad student in good academic standing.

    • Upcoming Junior or Senior in college pursuing a degree in marketing, public relations, communications, social media, creative writing

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    · Must be available to work at Home Office at least on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 20-25 hours each week.

    · Strong writing skills.

    · Strong listening skills.

    · Detail-oriented and organized.

    · Must uphold, enforce, and abide by all institutional policies.

    · Familiar and comfortable working within a cloud-based system.

    · Able to lift at least 15 pounds.

  • Qualifications
    • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent or ten (10) years equivalent work experience.
    • Some post-secondary education is preferred.
    • Must be able to learn and apply a variety of software applications.
    • Must have accurate keyboarding skills.
    • Prior experience in a retail service environment to include cash handling and member service preferred.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the partner is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
    • The partner is frequently required to walk and sit. The partner is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • The partner must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
