(Temporary Position) Front Desk for a Medical Office
Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Office Medical Assistant to join our gastroenterology team. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment and enjoys delivering outstanding service to patients. The ideal individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring smooth administrative operations while supporting the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Reception:
Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Check in and check out patients, ensuring all necessary forms and consents are completed.
Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays or payments as needed.
Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries about appointments, procedures, and office policies.
Scheduling & Coordination:
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments for consultations and procedures.
Collaborate with the Authorization and Eligibility departments to ensure all approvals are obtained prior to services.
Maintain and update patient demographic and insurance information in the EHR system (Mod Med preferred).
Administrative Support:
Scan, upload, and organize patient documentation within the EHR.
Manage front desk supplies and assist in ordering office-related inventory.
Assist patients in understanding preparation instructions for GI procedures (colonoscopy, endoscopy, etc.).
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming office atmosphere.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working in the front office of a medical practice (gastroenterology preferred but not required).
Familiarity with EHR systems (Mod Med preferred).
Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.
Current BLS certification.
Current TB test or flu shot.
Covid-19 vaccination required.
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Professional demeanor and the ability to multitask in a high-volume setting.
