    Develop, direct, and coordinate in the creation, planning, organization, control, and integration of key strategic manufacturing projects focused on launch management organization. Take a leadership role in creating, training, and managing cross-functional teams and project management systems to ensure successful, on-time, and within budget launches. Ultimately responsible to assure plants achieve 0-0-100-100-30 launch performance (0-Safety Recordable, 0 – Quality RPPM, 100% On-time Deliveries, 100% of Financial Target all for 30 production days post SOP).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage projects involving manufacturing footprint and transfer of business from one facility to another.
    • Drive design and implementation and start-up of new or expanded facilities required for business expansion.
    • Manage strategic business launch projects associated with new business/customers/technology.
    • Define and monitor key performance indicators and report periodically to Sr. Management (SBG’s, Red Program Updates)
    • Provide guidance and mentoring to plant launch managers and provide on-site launch support.
    • Develop competency models and training options for launch managers and provide performance input as needed to the plant managers and/or PMO Director.
    • Develop and maintain strategic analysis tools for manufacturing (e.g., footprint analysis) and support the Commercial team in analyses/quoting of new business requiring JIT facilities or manufacturing footprint modifications
    • Develop plant level launch support staffing plans with the plant manager and local HR manager.
    • Monitor program status by conducting program NPIS gate audits, facilitating program reviews, on-site launch readiness reviews and support executive reviews.
    • Collaborate with MET, Plant Materials Group, EH&S, GSCM and Quality (corporate and plant) to ensure NPIS compliance, equipment and component procurement and plant facilitation adhere to customer milestone dates.
    • Collaborate with Program Management the PFEP plan and monitor through audit process and NPIS reviews.
    • Create and maintain department budget.
    • Execute implementation of previous launch lessons learned into future launches.
    • Execute implementation of best practices across manufacturing sites.
    • Monitor implementation of TVM activities within the launch management group.
    • Support preparation and execution of customer Run at Rate events.
    • Assure customer issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
    • Build customer relationships through honest and transparent collaboration.
    • Support customer and vendor visits and launch readiness reviews.

    Required Experience

    Basic Requirements:  

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline. MBA/Master’s Degree preferred.
    • 10+ years related experience in Program Launches in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in Project management methodology, project planning tools and techniques. Knowledge of PMI standard is a plus.
    • Broad understanding of commercial, engineering and manufacturing processes.
    • Must have basic knowledge of finance tools, general engineering and manufacturing product and process development.
    • Clear understanding of change management processes as they impact program launches.
    • Ability to monitor multiple program launches simultaneously and manage as required.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions.
    • Ability to escalate issues as required ensuring successful launches both internally and externally (call “Red Flag” meetings as required to eliminate roadblocks).
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface and influence at multiple organizational levels within Tenneco and with external customers.
    • Must possess excellent relationship building, facilitation, leadership, and networking skills, be well organized and able to function in a team environment.
    • Must have excellent technical, organizational, troubleshooting, problem solving (product and process) and budget and time management skills.
    • Must have comprehensive understanding and use of office software products including: MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.
    • Must be goal oriented and possess a drive to meet program deliverables and deadlines
