About the clean slate for Corpus Christi City Council
Corpus Christi needs new leadership. The Clean Slate candidates for City Council will work to make Corpus Christi more affordable by keeping city taxes and water bills low; by attracting good-paying, clean jobs ; and by ending taxpayer subsidies for big industry. Our Clean Slate candidates oppose desalination in the Corpus Christi Bay.
We have water rates that keep increasing their strain on our wallets, giveaways in the millions of dollars to industry, and roads that remain unfixed! We know that local elections matter! That's why we've endorsed candidates Sylvia Campos for District 2; Eli McKay for City Council District 1; Isabel Araiza for Mayor; Eric Magnusson for District 4; and Rachell Caballero , Jennifer Gracia , and Jim Klein for At-Large City Council.
Last election, with the hard work of our canvassing, two of our endorsed-grassroots candidates won their races against candidates backed by industry, and those that stand with the status quo. The Clean Slate made a splash, and now Sylvia Campos from District 2, and Jim Klein (at-large council member, are bringing the movement to City Hall, everyday.
